About the Role
As an Engineering Manager at NetActuate, you will play a pivotal role in managing and building our agile-based engineering team. You will work closely with the leadership team, including the CEO, and directly manage a team of 5-8 engineers, with the potential to hire more as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with and building agile-based engineering teams for SAAS services. They should be proficient in PHP, Python, and JavaScript, and have a solid understanding of Linux, APIs, web services, and networking.
Responsibilities
- Act as the scrum manager for the engineering team, overseeing sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
 - Create user stories, tasks, and engineering documents to guide the development process.
 - Assist with architectural decisions and provide technical guidance to the team.
 - Lead by example and remain hands-on in the development process, contributing to multiple projects simultaneously.
 - Manage backend services (daemons), API layer projects, and frontend portals.
 - Implement modern CI/CD principles, including pipelines, workflows, and QA integration.
 - Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
 - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with business objectives.
 
Requirements
- 4+ Years of Experience
 - Proven experience managing and building agile-based engineering teams for SAAS services, delivering products from start to finish.
 - Strong proficiency in PHP, Python, and JavaScript.
 - Solid understanding of Linux, APIs, web services, and networking.
 - Familiarity and comfort with microservices, containers, and virtualization.
 - Experience with modern CI/CD principles and tools.
 - Excellent communication and leadership skills.
 - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
 - Previous experience working in a smaller/startup environment is preferred.
