Opening its first data center in Canada, Host Virtual better serves its virtual host customers with its Toronto and newly-expanded Seattle locations.
Cloud hosting service Host Virtual continues its data center expansion with a new location in Toronto, Canada.
The new data center in Canada’s largest city will serve the demands of Host Virtual’s customers in the country. The company also completed improvements to its Seattle data center, which serves the Western half of Canada. The company’s customers will be able to deploy their websites and services to better serve one or both of the country’s coasts.
Host Virtual’s new data center has a direct connection with the Toronto Internet Exchange (TorIX) and is located in the same carrier hotel at 151 Front Street West in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. TorIX is the largest internet exchange in Canada and the 11th largest in the world.
“We’re very pleased to be able to increase our connectivity through our new Toronto data center, our first in Canada, and our beefed-up Seattle data center,” Host Virtual Senior Vice President Sandy Bhargavi said. “These sites will provide our customers — who require sites all over the world — with quick, low latency connections to their users. We will continue to add more data centers and expand their capabilities as we grow.”
The Toronto data center is Host Virtual’s 16th addition. Its other data centers are located in North America, Europe and the Asia/Pacific region. In addition to Toronto and Seattle, Host Virtual has also recently upgraded its European and New York City facilities.
Host Virtual offers BGP Anycast, load balancing, and worldwide CDN support with its cloud hosting infrastructure as a service, or IaaS. Over 300 operating system templates can be deployed by the company’s customers to its data centers that utilize native dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 support.
