I’ve been in the tech industry since 1992 in some form or another, and I’ve gotten to know a lot of technologists.

I can say that my recent interview of Jason Scott, proprietor of textfiles.com, Software Archivist at The Internet Archive and long-time Tranquil Hosting customer, is a career highlight for me and something I’ll not soon forget.

This digital world we live in moves so fast – at one point in the discussion Jason compares contemporary digital realities to the life of a fruit fly (#classic!) – that I for one am deeply grateful for the work Jason and others do to preserve this history and make it freely and perpetually available for us and future generations.

Here’s the short, 2-minute, version of our conversation.

And here’s the full discussion – about 30 minutes.
