Web Developer

Job Description / Functions

  • As a Web Developer, you’re very familiar working with REST API(s) – both consuming and in some cases producing them, by integrating them into your controller and model, and making them go with views. On the front end that means experience with PHP, some jquery, and as a bonus more modern frameworks (react, angularjs, etc.)
  • It means that you breathe RCS; probably git, but even SVN or CBS. It means you understand test cases, and continuous automation/integration, and you’re comfortable using web meetings, trello, gitlab, slack and more to collaborate with other developers.
  • As junior (2+ years) or senior developer (5+ years), you will have extensive experience with PHP.
  • On the senior side, we’ll look for you to have more experience with overall architecture, data modeling, test cases and have a proven track record of delivering larger, complex applications. On the junior side, you’ll be capable and have something to prove, while being open to learning.

Tech Support Engineer

Job Description / Functions

  • As a tech support engineer, you’ll need to be familiar with various web hosting control panels – Web Host Manager, cPanel, DirectAdmin, etc. either from a customer (end user) perspective or as an Administrator.
  • You’ll be familiar with installing, configuring and troubleshooting common web applications based on the LAMP stack like WordPress, Joomla, and Magento, and you’ll be comfortable working with and understanding customer requirements and issues.
  • You’re familiar with a tech support environment – responding to tickets via a ticket system, phone calls via a tech support queue and escalating to senior engineers. A strong drive to learn more about linux, and light familiarity with the linux command line are a plus.
  • As an entry level position, you may have just helped friends and family with their blog or photo gallery. Are you the person everyone calls when their PC breaks or to help fix / upload their website? This may be the ideal role for you.

Position Responsibilities / Requirements

  • Multiple responsibilities related to server installation and maintenance, network and server monitoring, customer support tickets and other duties as assigned as described.

System Administrator

Job Description / Functions

  • This is an on-site, full-time OR part-time position.
  • Must be self motivated, work well independently, have excellent troubleshooting skills, excellent English communication skills, and is passionate about open source software, servers, and datacenters.

Position Responsibilities / Requirements

  • We make use of slack, zoom, and whatsapp for internal and external communication and you are expected to be available during your expected work hours.
  • You may be required to work additional hours to continue work on projects, be on call in case of emergency, or work during schedules that do not impact customer use of infrastructure.
  • Respond professionally and in a timely manner to customer support inquiries by phone and email. Continued communication with customers to ensure customer support SLAs are met/exceeded
  • Maintain and support the technical infrastructure – servers, firewalls, network devices.
  • Respond to monitoring alerts for server and network issues
  • Troubleshoot server slowdowns and errant behavior, based on specific procedures

Site Reliability Engineer

Job Description / Functions

  • As NetActuate’s site reliability engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to manage NetActuate’s complex challenges of scale, while using your expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis and large-scale system design.
  • This role combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems.
  • SRE ensures that NetActuate’s services, both internally critical and externally-visible systems, have reliability, uptime appropriate to users’ needs and a fast rate of improvement.
  • Our site reliability engineer will also keep a watchful eye on our systems capacity and performance. Software development work will focus on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and eliminating work through automation. This is a full-time, 100% remote position.

NOC Manager

Location: Hybrid model, Raleigh, NC or Santa Clarita, CA

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced NOC (Network Operations Center) Manager to join our team at NetActuate. The NOC Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Network Operations Center, ensuring the continuous monitoring and maintenance of our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for mentoring and guiding their team to success.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of 5 NOC technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members to help them achieve their career goals.

Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Center, including monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests.

Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on network infrastructure, monitoring tools, and industry best practices. Provide technical guidance and assistance to team members as needed.

Qualifications:

5 years of experience in network operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.

Strong technical background in networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.

Proficiency in network monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or SolarWinds.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize competing demands.

Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or ITIL are a plus.

Network Engineer

  • Analyze, design, configure and fix issues with the network structure or application modules.
  • The role of a network engineer is to make sure that communications function through the network is uninterrupted and that the network’s performance sees the urgent requests.
  • The NetActuate network spans hundreds of POP(s) and thousands of peers.
  • You will be comfortable working with a global, distributed team of network experts.

Position Responsibilities / Requirements

  • Identification, notification, and escalation of network issues. Document cause analysis and offer solutions to prevent future network outages
  • Install, configure and monitor essential network security protocols

Engineering Manager

About the Role:
As an Engineering Manager at NetActuate, you will play a pivotal role in managing and building our agile-based engineering team. You will work closely with the leadership team, including the CEO, and directly manage a team of 5-8 engineers, with the potential to hire more as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with and building agile-based engineering teams for SAAS services. They should be proficient in PHP, Python, and JavaScript, and have a solid understanding of Linux, APIs, web services, and networking.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the scrum manager for the engineering team, overseeing sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Create user stories, tasks, and engineering documents to guide the development process.
  • Assist with architectural decisions and provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Lead by example and remain hands-on in the development process, contributing to multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Manage backend services (daemons), API layer projects, and frontend portals.
  • Implement modern CI/CD principles, including pipelines, workflows, and QA integration.

Data Center Engineer

Job Description / Functions

  • As an Infrastructure Engineer, with Deployment & Support responsibilities, you are experienced in developing and implementing on-premise and cloud-based server infrastructure. You understand that “cloud” is a relative term and that you’re still working with physical servers in a datacenter to deliver it.
  • You have worked in agile environments that are project oriented. You have experience designing, deploying, operating and supporting Hypervisors, Storage, networking, DNS.
  • The successful candidate must have strategic agility and good decision-making skills. They should also possess the ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with a strong customer-service orientation.
  • This function should be able to solve problems at a tactical and functional level, have excellent oral and written communication skills, a solid work ethic and unquestioned integrity.

  • Day-day management on-premise of physical datacenter(s) including working with hardware (our own and customers)- rack/stack, cabling, configuration, etc.

  • Write runbooks for ansible or other Devops; ability to work with software developers on planning and platform deployments that may include Linux, *BSD with various clustering
Creative Marketing Coordinator

NetActuate seeks a marketing coordinator to work closely with the Head of Marketing to grow and scale marketing efforts and reach new customer bases. This role will focus primarily on creative design, digital campaigns, and event management. This position will be part of a growing team that will scale B2B marketing efforts.

Creative Design (Video and Graphics)

  • Own and manage the NetActuate brand to ensure consistency in look and feel across all outlets.
  • Provide on-brand, professional graphic design for marketing projects, including reports, whitepapers, infographics, social graphics, and more.
  • Coordinate with Assistant to CEO to provide designs for company swag
  • Provide video editing and local video capture for targeted video projects. (Can also oversee freelance animators and editors.)
  • Provide design for new slides in sales and marketing decks
  • Manage YouTube channel to post new videos, tag them, and add in SEO-optimized descriptions

Digital Campaign Management and Reporting

  • Launch, monitor, and review performance in retargeting campaigns in AdRoll
  • Create new ad designs for AdRoll campaigns, and A/B test effectiveness
  • As new digital advertising outlets are identified, such as paid LinkedIn, Reddit, or YouTube, create and manage campaigns, and provide graphics for campaigns.
  • Manage dashboards in Agency Analytics and provide regular updates on performance
  • Regularly review SEMRush for new SEO content opportunities, track performance of identified keywords
  • Identify and track key KPIs for digital campaigns
  • Explore and manage opportunities for paid partnerships including content syndication, email placements, and placing CEO and VP of Infrastructure on podcasts and webinars as guests

Event Management

  • Work with team members going to conferences and events, to support their onsite marketing needs, such as identifying and sourcing materials and swag
  • Check in with team members to get images and content for blogs and social media during and after events
  • Maintain marketing conference and events calendar

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of graphic design experience, portfolio required
