Seeking to better serve the connection needs of the Manhattan area, Host Virtual expands its NYC datacenter.
Cloud Hosting service Host Virtual expanded into a new datacenter in New York, serving customers who require better reach into the city and the Eastern seaboard.
The new datacenter, located at 85 10th Avenue, expands Host Virtual’s transit capacity as well as local peering for fast and diverse connectivity into the area. It also features direct access to the New York Internet Exchange, or NYIIX.
The NIIYX is one of the world’s largest and most active carrier-neutral IP peering exchanges, ranking internationally in the top 10 among other exchanges. Redundant fiber cables connect the NYIIX to other carrier hotels in the area.
Host Virtual operates 15 datacenters around the globe in the Asia/Pacific region, North America and Europe. The datacenters connect to the major exchanges in Europe, North America and Hong Kong.
“The primary reason to expand our cloud in New York City is because of strong demand by our business customers — especially financial services customers — for better connectivity in Manhattan, which is an extremely latency-sensitive location,” Host Virtual Senior Vice President Sandy Bhargavi said. “Expanding our existing datacenters and opening new locations is an ongoing process for our company to ensure our customers have access to fast cloud servers around the world.”
The company offers its customers cloud hosting as an infrastructure as a service, or IaaS, with tools and services that include BGP Anycast, load balancing, and worldwide CDN support. The company’s customers can install and deploy over 300 virtual machines to its cloud with native dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 support.
