Another SCaLE conference and DevOpsDays is now in the books and we’d like to thank all the organizers and volunteers who helped pull it together. Pasadena provided a wonderful backdrop for the event and we encourage all businesses to support the Los Angeles communities affected by the wildfires. We can certainly confirm that Pasadena is back and open for business!

NetActuate has an office in Santa Clarita (about 40 minutes north of Pasadena), but this was actually our first time participating at SCaLE and DevOpsDaysLA! Many folks we spoke to have been coming to these events for years and say it’s the best show of its kind in Southern California. From what we’ve seen so far, we’d have to agree!
In addition to the Santa Clarita office, NetActuate also manages a major Los Angeles data center providing unmatched scalability within the Los Angeles market serving an ecosystem of entertainment companies, digital content providers, and CDNs. This location is connected via dark fiber to Coresite’s One Wilshire datacenter for additional capacity and interconnection capabilities. It was great meeting other local companies and developers working in this vibrant and varied ecosystem.
DevOpsDaysLA on Day 1 of the conference offered the chance to learn and share experiences from a DevOps perspective. Craig Jackson, a DevOps Engineer at NetActuate gave a lightning talk during the DevOpsDays program inviting folks to share their ideas for what they could do on NetActuate’s infrastructure and global Anycast network.

We also enjoyed running into Debo and crew from our partners, DevZero, who was a fellow sponsor. DevZero is a leading developer infrastructure company boosting engineering team productivity by providing on-demand access to the environments they need. NetActuate supports DevZero’s rapid global expansion using our custom Anycast edge services.
Craig was joined on the show floor by Vince Libero, Greg Wallace, Brandon Wick, and our CEO Mark Mahle who staffed our booths in both the DevOpsDays hall and the main Expo area. Our stickers, notebooks, pens, socks, and especially “Route BGP” hats were quite popular. We benefitted from engaging with the community and sharing more about our approach to open source, open internet, and designing networks and services for our customers!

NetActuate will also be attending GTC in San Jose, March 17-21 in San Jose and NAB in Las Vegas, April 5 – 9. We hope to see you at an upcoming event!
If we missed you at the show, we invite you to schedule a time with Greg to go over any questions you may have.
