NetActuate Launches MoQ Relay, Managed Media over QUIC Delivery on Its Own Global Network

September 8, 2026

New managed service lets broadcasters and streaming platforms publish a live track once and reach subscribers from relay capacity placed near their audience.

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands, Sept. 8, 2026 NetActuate, a leading provider of global edge infrastructure and network services, today announced NetActuate MoQ Relay, a managed Media over QUIC delivery network for live media. The service gives streaming platforms, broadcasters moving off satellite, and media companies a way to deploy relay capacity on NetActuate's infrastructure by distributing one feed to many downstream subscribers in more than 45 locations worldwide.

MoQ Relay is the third service in NetActuate's live-media line, alongside the NetActuate Media Substrate and the C-Band Transition Acceleration Service. It stands on its own and composes with the Media Substrate for teams that want contribution and distribution from a single operator.

"Every conversation about MoQ ends up at the same question, which is who runs the relays," said Mark Mahle, CEO at NetActuate. "We already run the network underneath them, so that is our lane and where we excel."

Media over QUIC is the standards-based path distribution teams are evaluating as satellite capacity is being reduced around the globe. As an open standard that scales through relays, it preserves the transport-stream workflow. With MoQ Relay, a live feed travels to the relay once, and everyone nearby is served from that single copy. In NetActuate's own testing with four-relays, one relay sent out sixteen times as much video while drawing the same backbone it needed to serve a single viewer. In other words, audience size stops driving network cost.

MoQ Relay runs on infrastructure NetActuate operates rather than on rented transit. Paths between relay locations are measured continuously and steered actively so when a route degrades, traffic moves to a better one. Each session is pinned to a stable per-location address, which lets the routing beneath it change independently. Run by the network, not layered on top of one.

Capacity is placed in the locations a customer's traffic actually needs, drawn from more than 45 locations worldwide and extended beyond them on request, so nobody pays for or shares a footprint built for someone else. Each customer receives its own tenant, with namespaces issued by the service rather than chosen by the customer.

MoQ Relay is built to show what is delivered per hop and per track, ingress to egress across NetActuate's own network, giving evaluation teams an operational view while they test live distribution patterns.

"MoQ is moving out of protocol work and into deployment planning," said Mark de Jong, VP, Business Development. "A managed relay service on an operator-run network is a practical way to evaluate it without building every piece yourself."

Request an Evaluation Deployment

NetActuate is opening a no-charge evaluation deployment to qualified broadcasters, streaming platforms and distribution teams. Each team receives relay capacity of its own in the locations it selects, with full observability and support from NetActuate's network team. Teams can request an evaluation at netactuate.com/moq-relay.
