BGP Anycast Overview

Shared Anycast IP

NetActuate’s Shared Anycast IP provides instant access to our global routing platform using a single, managed anycast IP address. Customers receive a globally distributed IPv4 or IPv6 address, fully managed by NetActuate, no need for BGP configuration, ASN ownership, or IP space.

Shared Anycast IP Use Cases

  • Global DNS and Edge Services: Serve authoritative DNS or APIs close to your users.
  • Hybrid Deployments: Attach a global IP to a POP and tunnel back to legacy or cloud environments.
  • Testing & QA: Validate edge performance or multi-region behavior without full platform migration.
  • Lightweight SaaS: Power login services, failover redirectors, telemetry endpoints, and more.

Unlike CDN-specific or HTTP-only solutions, our Shared Anycast IPs support full stack connectivity including HTTP(S), TCP, UDP, and tunnel-based routing. These IPs can be directly bound to your infrastructure hosted within NetActuate's platform, virtual machines, bare metal, or managed Kubernetes environments.

Routing behavior is flexible. You can bind services directly to the anycast IP, or for advanced routing control, announce your /32 (IPv4) or /128 (IPv6) internally from within your deployment via BGP. This allows intelligent ingress routing and enables return paths to external environments over tunnels.

With Anycast IP, you can enable global delivery for your services—no networking expertise required. Deploy full-stack apps, not just web services on a globally reachable IP and support flexible edge routing and return path control using tunnels or internal BGP. Finally, you can avoid the cost and complexity of managing IP blocks, ASNs, and global routing infrastructure

$100/month per Shared Anycast IP, plus IaaS/Compute resources.

Core Features

Schedule a Call

Single Managed Anycast IP

What it is?

A globally distributed IPv4 or IPv6 address managed entirely by NetActuate. No need for ASN registration, IP space ownership, or custom BGP setup.

Why it matters?

Launch globally accessible services in minutes without networking overhead. Perfect for development, staging, and production environments alike.

Full Stack Protocol Support

What it is?

Supports HTTP(S), TCP, UDP, and tunnel-based traffic to your services.

Why it matters?

Go beyond CDN limitations: run DNS, APIs, VPNs, game servers, or any protocol stack you need.

Attach to NetActuate Compute

What it is?

Use your IP with VMs, bare metal, and Kubernetes deployments across our global network.

Why it matters?

Unified infrastructure management with global reach, high availability, and built-in redundancy.

Flexible Ingress with BGP (Optional)

What it is?

Announce the shared IP internally from your compute node using BGP to influence ingress traffic.

Why it matters?

Route traffic more intelligently by proximity, performance, or failover without needing your own ASN or external configuration.

Tunnel-Based Return Path Support

What it is?

Use tunnels like WireGuard or IPsec to return traffic to remote environments or data centers.

Why it matters?

Extend your global presence without relocating your infrastructure, great for hybrid cloud and migration scenarios.

Shared DDoS Mitigation

What it is?

Our platform includes shared DDoS protection across the anycast layer.

Why it matters?

Peace of mind for mission-critical apps, automatic protection without extra cost or effort.

Portal and API Management

What it is?

Bind and manage IPs, routing settings, and attached services via our intuitive UI or programmatically via API.

Why it matters?

Enable automated workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and zero-touch operations.

Basic DevOps Automation

What it is?

Integration support for infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Ansible, and shell scripts.

Why it matters?

Consistent and scalable deployments using tools your team already knows.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Shared Anycast IP?

A managed IP address globally distributed over NetActuate’s network. You can attach it to your hosted resources without needing BGP or IP space of your own.

Can I use this IP with any service?

Yes. It supports all major protocols and works with VMs, bare metal, and Kubernetes services within NetActuate.

Is IPv6 supported?

Yes. All shared anycast IPs are dual stack IPv4 and IPv6.

Can I route return traffic elsewhere?

Yes. You can use tunnels to return traffic to remote data centers, clouds, or even your own ASN.

Do I need to use BGP?

No. You can bind the IP directly to your resource. But if desired, you can announce the IP internally to steer traffic.

Is this production-grade?

Yes. However, customers requiring SLAs or advanced customization may want to consider our BGP Anycast Platform.

How is this different from AWS Global Accelerator?

Our shared anycast IP supports full protocol stacks, runs outside of CDN-only environments, and binds directly to your infrastructure.
