Bridge Technologies VB330

The Bridge Technologies VB330 is the industry-standard software monitoring and analytics probe for IP media, available in the NetActuate Marketplace as a bring-your-own-license (BYOL) appliance. It provides deep real-time monitoring of transport streams, OTT and ABR (HLS and DASH), and multicast and unicast, with content verification, thumbnails, alarming, and the full VB330 web interface. Deployed from the Marketplace it boots as a ready appliance in any NetActuate PoP, placing monitoring close to where your media actually flows. It is grouped under the Media & Streaming category.

What It Does

The VB330 monitors and analyzes IP media in real time. Common uses include:

  • Deep monitoring of transport streams, OTT and ABR (HLS and DASH), multicast, and unicast
  • Content verification with thumbnails and alarming
  • Placing probe capacity close to where media flows across your edge

Running a probe per PoP gives you monitoring at the points your media actually traverses.

Using the Appliance

After the build completes:

  1. Open the web UI at https://YOUR_VM_IP/. HTTP on port 80 redirects to HTTPS.
  2. Your BYOL license key was delivered to the appliance in your secret list. Apply it in the VB330 UI under license administration, or with the on-box tool /opt/btech/probe/bin/add_license, to unlock probe capacity. The license key never appears in any API response.
  3. Configure the streams to monitor from the UI.
