datarhei Restreamer

datarhei Restreamer is available in the NetActuate Marketplace as a one-click, open-source appliance you can deploy into any NetActuate PoP. Ingest one stream, restream everywhere from a polished web UI. It is grouped under the Media & Streaming category.

What It Does

datarhei Restreamer is an Apache-2.0 restreaming server that turns a single live input into many outputs through a clean, wizard-driven web interface. Point OBS or a camera at it once, then distribute to social platforms, embed a player on your site, and monitor viewers and bandwidth, all without per-stream licensing fees.

Key features

  • Friendly web UI with a step-by-step setup wizard, localized in multiple languages
  • Ingest over RTMP, RTMPS, and SRT; deliver via HLS, RTMP, and SRT
  • Multi-destination publishing to YouTube Live, Twitch, Facebook, Vimeo, Wowza, and more
  • Built-in VideoJS player for drop-in website embedding
  • Hardware acceleration (NVIDIA CUDA, Intel VAAPI, Raspberry Pi)
  • REST API with Swagger docs for automation
  • Automatic Let's Encrypt HTTPS and privacy-friendly (no audience data collection)
  • Viewer and bandwidth monitoring built in

Use cases

  • Restreaming one OBS or camera feed to several social platforms at once
  • Hosting a branded live player directly on your own website
  • A self-hosted, no-license alternative to commercial restreaming SaaS
  • 24/7 channels and re-broadcasts driven via the REST API

Why run it on the NetActuate edge Placing Restreamer in a PoP near your encoder shortens the ingest hop, reducing jitter and dropped frames before the stream fans out to platforms and viewers. Edge delivery of the embedded HLS player keeps regional viewers close to the video, lowering startup time and rebuffering.

Best for: Restreaming, 24x7 channels, Simulcast.
