Jellyfin is available in the NetActuate Marketplace as a one-click, open-source appliance you can deploy into any NetActuate PoP. The free-software media system: stream your movies, TV, music and photos. It is grouped under the Media & Streaming category.

What It Does​

Jellyfin is the Free Software Media System: a self-hosted media server that lets you collect, manage and stream your own movies, TV shows, music, books and photos to any device, with no tracking, no subscription and no phone-home. It is a community-driven, fully open source project (GPL-2.0), forked from Emby and independent of any single company.

Jellyfin is a project of its upstream authors and community; NetActuate packages and distributes it under the GPL-2.0 license and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Jellyfin project.

Using the Appliance​

Jellyfin is up. Open the web UI in a browser: http://YOUR_VM_IP:8096/ and complete the FIRST-RUN SETUP WIZARD: pick a display language, create your administrator account (choose a strong password - this is the only account until you add more), then add your media libraries by pointing them at folders on the server (upload or mount your media under a path such as /media, then map it in the wizard). Finish the wizard to reach the dashboard. The same port serves the REST API used by the Jellyfin mobile and TV apps. Exposure posture: port 8096 is plain HTTP; before production use put a TLS-terminating reverse proxy in front, or restrict access to trusted source IPs.

FAQ​

Is there a software license fee? No. Jellyfin is open source and free to run. You pay only for the NetActuate infrastructure and bandwidth.

Where is the web interface? On port 8096 at path /web/ by default.

Who supports it? NetActuate operates the underlying infrastructure. The application itself is community-supported open source (best-effort SLA class).
