Navidrome

Navidrome is available in the NetActuate Marketplace as a one-click, open-source appliance you can deploy into any NetActuate PoP. Self-hosted music streaming (Subsonic/OpenSubsonic) with a web player. It is grouped under the Media & Streaming category.

What It Does

Navidrome is a self-hosted music streaming server. Point it at your music collection and stream it from anywhere through a fast, modern web player or any of the many Subsonic and OpenSubsonic compatible mobile and desktop apps. It handles large libraries, multiple users, playlists, transcoding on the fly and smart playlists, and it is completely free software.

Deployed from the NetActuate marketplace it boots ready on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS from the official public Navidrome container. There is no license and no key: the first visit to the web UI creates your admin account. Add your music to the appliance and it is served over the Subsonic and OpenSubsonic API on port 4533.

Upstream project: Navidrome (https://www.navidrome.org, source at https://github.com/navidrome/navidrome), an independent open source project released under the GNU GPLv3 by Deluan Quintao and the Navidrome contributors. Navidrome is not affiliated with or endorsed by NetActuate; NetActuate packages the unmodified upstream 0.63.1 release container image.

Using the Appliance

Navidrome is up. Open the web UI at http://YOUR_VM_IP:4533/ . The FIRST visit creates your admin account: choose your own username and password on the Navidrome setup screen. No license or key is required (Navidrome is free software, GPLv3). Add music to the appliance under /var/lib/navidrome/music on the VM and it is served over the Subsonic and OpenSubsonic API to any compatible client. Exposure posture: port 4533 serves the web UI and API over plain HTTP; before exposing it to the public internet, put a TLS-terminating proxy in front or restrict access to trusted source IPs.
